The Confluence

A drainage channel cuts through open ground toward Estrella Mountain. New homes rise on one side while industrial construction advances on the other.

The channel connects these otherwise separate parts of the landscape. Water, infrastructure, housing, and industry all belong to the same changing environment. What appears to be empty ground is already part of a larger system reshaping the West Valley.

Estrella remains in the distance, a constant presence behind each successive layer.

From Finding Estrella, an ongoing project about the changing visibility of the mountain and the landscape surrounding it.
