Requiem in the Sand

This scene resembled an ancient cemetery with crumbling grave stones. Beyond it, rows of retired passenger jets sit in an aircraft boneyard beneath Estrella Mountain. The connection between these two resting places gives the scene a quiet sense of mourning, while new construction signals another transformation of the landscape.
