In So Far

In So Far

While scouting for new vistas to photograph, I came across this set of silos. I had photographed them before, but I wondered whether I could capture the mountain from the other side. I made a quick turn and drove behind the structure. The mountain was there, but the silos were smack-dab in the middle of it. It was perfect.

The repeating peaks of the metal silos had replaced the mountain peaks across the center of the view, leaving the Estrellas visible only at the outer edges. The structure did not simply block the landscape, it created an industrial imitation of it.

From Finding Estrella, my ongoing study of the changing visibility of Estrella Mountain as the West Valley continues to develop.
